This exploration of human drama uses the setting of the stage, in which a whole range of emotions come to play; from anger, horror and pain to bewilderment, meditation and contemplation. Some of these paintings relate directly to Rome with obvious references such as the fontanella, cobblestones or the Coliseum, while others bring in nature in the form of grass, water, or animals. The paintings explore the madness of traffic, the desire for nature and the threat of rising waters. There is also love, betrayal, and the desire for revenge.
